Why Visit: This is the most popular time for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking. Trails in Bwindi Impenetrable and Kibale National Parks are drier and easier to navigate.
Wildlife Viewing: In savanna parks like Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls, animals congregate around permanent water sources, making them much easier to spot through the thinner vegetation.

The Wet Seasons (Low Season)
This happens during the months of March to May and October to November.

September: A “sweet spot” month; often dry but with fewer crowds than July and August.
October & November: Short rains; great for seeing the waterfalls at their most powerful and enjoying high bird activity.
December: A transition month; rains taper off, and the landscape is still vibrant before the heat of January.
Because Uganda is situated along the equator and has high-altitude regions, temperatures remain relatively stable year-round (typically 24°C to 30°C / 75°F to 86°F during the day).
However, nighttime temperatures in the mountainous southwest (Bwindi, Mgahinga, and the Rwenzoris) can drop significantly, making warm layers essential regardless of when you visit.
